Founded in 1897, Barbourne Bowling Club is a vibrant, growing club that offers outdoor bowling at all levels, and welcomes new members. From coaching for the novice, to competitive leagues and competitions for the experienced bowler, Barbourne offers a wide range of bowling for all, together with a licensed bar, social events, and a friendly, welcoming membership.
We welcome all new members, so why not come down to the club, or e-mail us via the contact form, and have a go. There are qualified coaches within the club who will be more than happy to meet you and get you started. You will be entitled to four free sessions where bowls will be provided. After these sessions it would be your choice as to whether you join or not to take your skills further and become a member of this great club.
It really is a brilliant way of meeting new people for either social or competitive bowling so why not visit us, have a look around the club and enjoy a drink at the bar |
BOWLING NEWS
We were delighted to welcome back all our members during our opening weekend of 15th and 16th April 2023.
Following the popularity of our Saturday triples league that did so much for our members' mental health as well as providing physical exercise and competitive bowling, we are running the league again in 2023 with matches starting on Saturday 29th April at 2.30pm. We will be running all our club competitions this season, together with our hugely popular Thursday League and Tommy Evans Friday night competition. Watch this space for more news.
BOWLS' BIG WEEKENDBarbourne Bowls Club will be taking part in the Bowls' Big Weekend on Saturday 27th May 2023 when we encourage anyone who would like to find out more about the sport and have a go. We'll be opening our green from 10.30am until 5pm to welcome anyone interested, and would love to see as many of our members as possible to help welcome those new to our sport. In addition to bowls, the bar will be open and, weather permitting, we'll be offering hot dogs and burgers from the barbecue.
For anyone that is interested in taking up the sport, but can't make the 27th, just contact us via our website, on Facebook, or call the Club on 01905 611081. Alternatively, if you're passing and the Club is open, please feel free to pop in for a chat. |
