The guidelines below are intended to make bowling at our Club as safe as it can be reasonably expected to be. Please take care to observe them, but be aware that no activity is currently completely risk-free.
Do not visit the Club if you are feeling unwell, have a high temperature, a new persistent cough, or are experiencing a new loss of smell or taste.

Registration
You must record your name on any visits to the Club by using the sign-in sheet provided to allow any incidents of infection to be immediately traced, quarantined and contained.. This is Government legislation and we must abide by this rule.
Social Distancing
Please ensure that you observe physical distancing (currently 2m) from other members who are not part of your household
Dress
You should arrive at the Club dressed ready to bowl. No changing room facilities will be available. Please change your footwear close to the rink on which you will be playing
Shaking Hands
Do not shake hands with any Club members from outside your household
Clubhouse
You may only enter the clubhouse to use the toilets - there will be separate signposted entrances for women and men via the conservatory. Only one person may use the toilet facilities at a time and there will be a "vacant/engaged" swing-sign on the entrance which you should turn round on entry (to read "engaged") and again on exit (to read "vacant"). Please avoid entering the clubhouse for any other reason, except emergency
Game Formats
Limited to either: singles, pairs or triples
The Green
The green will be set up to use the allowed number of rinks, following advice from Bowls England in force at the time of play.
Equipment
All equipment will have been sanitised before use you should collect it from the coaching shed. At the end of a match please leave all equipment on the path around the green so that it can be retrieved and sanitised before the next session of play. After a roll-up please sanitise the kit you have used, and leave it in the coaching shed.
During Play
In all matches, the home team will have the first mat and jack so there will be no need to toss a coin.
Lead bowlers: please use your own jack and mat, and try to place the mat so that other players can easily maintain physical distancing. After each end, you will have to walk up the rink to retrieve the mat.
Skips: If you are the home skip, you should mark the scorecard which will be in a sanitised holder - (please bring your own pen). If you are using a scoreboard, then only the away skip should handle it. Please use your feet to centre the jack.
All players: No pushers will be available, so bowls will be "kicked back" after each end has been played. Players should not touch another player's bowls, and measuring to decide shot should be avoided
Personal Protection
Hand sanitiser should be used regularly and there will be a limited amount available at the Club for you use, but please feel free to bring your own. It's important that any members who wish to play, should feel comfortable and confident to do so - if you wish to wear gloves, or a mask, that is entirely your decision - it's your club and you are free to take whatever precautions make you comfortable.
Refreshments
Although the bar may be open, current legislation dictates that drinks may only be served outside, and whoever is running the bar must provide table service. Please do not enter the Club to visit the bar, unless you are serving.

Casual Play - Booking System
The Club will be open every day for roll-ups (except when there is a league/tournament/competition, and we have a booking system in place to make sure that we do not exceed the restricted number of players at any one time. Please do not just turn up and expect that you will be able to play at any time.
Please book by calling Martin Hill on 01905 622200 or email mjhillhome@btinternet.com. You will need to tell him how many people are to play (and their names), the date, and whether you want a morning, afternoon, or evening session. Please note that working members will be given priority for evening sessions.
Please make sure that you arrive promptly for your booked session, and leave promptly at the end so that no-one is kept waiting.
