The Coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone, every day - from contact with our family and friends, to worries about our mental and physical health, finances, work, and leisure.
Now, as the daily news gets a little brighter, and lockdown restrictions have eased, we are delighted that, under the guidance of both the Government and Bowls England, we have, at last been able to start a somewhat scaled-down 2020 bowling season on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June - please see below for details.
Currently, restrictions mean that we can play singles, pairs, or triples, on alternate rinks so that we are able to maintain a 2 metre distance, at all times, and although there will be no inter-club matches, we are running the following:
Thank you to all our members who have supported us by still paying their membership fees - after all, we are a club, and we are all in this together; although the Government has been generous in their financial support, it won't entirely cover our losses for the year. The good news is that, weather permitting, we will continue the season until October this year, so that everyone gets as much benefit from their membership as possible.
We have now also been able to open the bar - with table service and we hope that the weather will continue to be bright and sunny so that everyone can enjoy a drink or two on the terrace.
A huge thank you to all our members who have been working behind the scenes, getting the club and the green ready for the delayed start - it's been really hard work to do all the jobs that need to be done, whilst maintaining social distance and keeping safe, and they've done a sterling job.

Season Opening Event - 13th & 14th June
Gordon Davison has been busy contacting all members and taking bookings for our opening events on Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th June. Please note that if you wish to play on either day, you must pre-book with Gordon - the restriction on numbers means that we cannot accommodate anyone turning up on the day who has not already booked.
The format of play will be either pairs or triples, depending on numbers, and we will be using a maximum of four rinks on each day (1,3,5 & 7)
Gordon will confirm the timings by email/telephone to all those who have requested to play.
